Since a while i am writing texts for this website: a.RTISTS IN TRANSIT – A blog about travelling artists and their everyday experiences: www.blog.igbk.de
The main questions are: What are the reasons for travelling? Why is the art scene that mobile? What are artists looking for ‘out there’? Is being on the move a chance or a burden? How does it influence the artistic work, which are the personal gains or drawbacks? Does mobility itself become the artistic practice? What do artists find by entering new cultures and new art scenes? Is it easy to establish contacts? What are the everyday experiences and difficulties (also as regards practical questions like transportation of works or equipment, customs matters, visa regulations etc). At the moment, 5 artists join this project: Celine Condorelli, Amadou Kane Sy, Amit Elan, Christine Falk and me.
